Tanvir TechnologyTalk HOW TO CHANGE THE GOOGLE PAGE ANALYTIC OWNER FROM ONE G MAIL ID (ACCOUNT) TO ANOTHER G MAIL ID (ACCOUNT) In the previous article, I told you how you can transfer the Ownership of a google plus page from one G mail ID (Account) to another G mail ID (Account). But, transferring Ownership to your new G mail ID (Account) is only part of the work. Suppose you have made a analytic account of the page as I have given in my article “Google Page Analytics”, and suppose you have collected lots of views and data through this analytic property account. If you are closing your old G mail ID, you wouldn’t want these views and data to be lost. After all these views and data give weightage and page rank to your google plus page. The another important reason is that if you make a fresh analytic property account of the Google plus page with your new G mail ID (Account), it will start from zero. Your page rank and views will start from zero. You wouldn’t want that either. A simple way is that after transferring your Google plus page to your new G mail ID (Account) as described in my previous article, you transfer the Google analytic property of the page as well. It will keep all your data intact and will give analytic authority and control to your new G mail ID (Account). This is a very desirable outcome. But, to achieve this desirable outcome, you have to perform a few internet Google juggling. This is how you do it. To start the process, you have to access the “Google Developers Console” (GDC) again at https://console.developers.google.com. This you are doing through your old G mail ID account, which is still the master of the analytic property of your Google plus page and which you have already transferred to the new G mail ID (Account). Once you have logged in, the screen will show you three small stacked horizontal bars ( =-)on the extreme top left. Next, to it will be ‘Google APIs’ on its right. Next will be a large rectangle box and still right to it will be a smaller rectangle box. This ‘smaller rectangle box’ has an arrow head 🔽 in its right side which is pointing downwards. Next to it is three zero dots and next to it is your photograph.
When you click on the arrow head pointing downwards in the second smaller rectangle box, a drop down menu of all your projects will appear. At the bottom of the bottom of the list of your analytic projects will also appear “Manage all Projects”. Click either on your chosen analytic project from the drop down menu list or click on “Manage all Projects”, where again a list of your analytic projects will appear. Click and choose your analytic project. This is the analytic project (account), you want to transfer in the control of your new G mail ID (Account). Again after choosing the analytic project you want to transfer, a screen will appear with three small stacked horizontal bars (=-), in the extreme left and next will be Google APIs. Now, if you click on the three small horizontal stacked bars, a drop down menu will appear consisting of “API Manager”, “Billing”, and with asymmetrical 8 symbol “Permissions”. The asymmetric 〠 (8) symbol is for “Permissions” and very important. Click on “permissions”, a blue box will appear to add members. You add your new G mail ID in this blue box. In the blue box in front of your new G mail id member, two choices will appear, either you can make it a member or the Owner. Choose Owner. Now your new G mail ID joint Owner with your old G mail ID. Next, click on Owner list and delete old G mail ID account. Now your new G mail ID is the sole Owner of the Google plus page analytic property (account). Once the new G mail ID becomes the Owner of the Google plus page analytic property, you can make other changes into it in conjunction with your new G mail ID demands like change of name etc. My book “Theory of Stability: origin and Evolution of Life” has been re-released with major editing and much reduced price, you can buy a copy of the book at amazon.com. amazon.in notion press.com Copyright © TANVIR NEBUCHADNEZAR HOW TO TRANSFER GOOGLE PAGE FROM ONE G MAIL ID (ACCOUNT) TO ANOTHER G MAIL ID (ACCOUNT) Google Plus pages are an important means to disseminate information and build up your brand presence on the Internet. Though Google Plus pages are shown as part of Google plus services but in reality they come under Google business account. All the same they are inter connected to each other and serve our purposes well. It takes lot of time to develop your brand presence on the Internet and still more effort to keep it viable. Now, suppose you have developed your brand in the form of google plus page or pages but due to some reasons, like change of name etc. would like to transfer your google plus page to your new gmail id or account and still hold on to your brand. Here is a simple way to do it. You can log on and access your pages either through Google plus http://www.plus.google.com, in which case you can click on your image on the right hand upper corner and the drop down menu of your pages will come up. At the bottom you have the option to open the table for ‘All your google plus pages’. You can also access your pages through Google business at https://business.google.com/manage/#/pages. Either way you have gained access to your list of pages. Select a page by clicking on it. The page is displayed with Home and Insights headings. In the left hand top corner is three horizontal small bars -=. Click on this three bar monogram and a list of options will come out from the left side of the screen. In the left side screen options, just above the last option (and below the list of Home, Insights, Google plus, All locations, Add a location, All brand pages, Add a brand page) is “Managers”. Click on MANAGERS Here your old gmail id is shown as ‘Owner’. You add your new gmail id in the box shown on the screen. It will ask you to send E mail invitation, choose Email invitation, than click on invite. Now, the invitation will be sent to your new gmail id. Do this procedure for all the pages you want to transfer. Sign out of your old gmail id. Sign into your new gmail id and go to your inbox. Open the E mail invitations and click on “Accept”. You accept invite to become Manager Now you have to wait 24 hours to transfer the ownership. After 24 hour, log sign into your old gmail id and as described before access your pages. Reach the “Manager” tab. Here you will see that your old gmail id is shown as Owner and your new gmail id is shown as Manager. If you click on the arrow in front of (new gmail id)Manager, a drop down menu appears which shows three options: 1) Manager 2)Communications Manager 3)Transfer Ownership to new gmail id Choose Transfer Ownership to new gmail id. Now the Ownership of your Google plus page is transferred to your new gmail id. You can sign into your new gmail id, access as your pages as described previously and either delete the old gmail id from Manager or keep it. Its up to you to decide. But please remember that this transfer process is irreversible and you cannot transfer back to your old gmail id. have a nice day! For ‘Corrections’ option to appear, click on the image. Click on ‘Format Picture’ next to ‘Home’ in top bar. Choose ‘Corrections’. In drop down menu of ‘Corrections’, choose ‘Picture Correction options’. ‘Corrections’ option is a sun symbol. In ‘Picture Correction Options’ of “Corrections”, there are many options to choose from. I am discussing them below but not in the order they appear in the table of ‘Picture Correction Options’. *’Size’ = If you want to further alter the size of the chosen image, you can change the size of image by selecting ‘Size’ and putting your desired dimensions in the provided table. *’Position’= you can either drag the image around by pressing on the cursor and displacing it to the desired place on the PowerPoint slide. You can also do it by selecting ‘Position’ in ‘Picture correction Options’ and putting the image position parameters in the given positions. *’ALT Text’= you can add title and a description of the image in the form space provided after you choose ‘ALT Text’ in ‘Picture Correction Options’. “You can type alt text for tables, diagrams, images, and other objects. Screen readers can then read the alt text to people who may have difficulty seeing the objects. The screen reader first reads the title. The person can then decide whether to hear a longer description”. Click OK. *Artistic Filters= You can add a artistic touch to the image by choosing the options from Marker, Pencil Grayscale, Pencil sketch, line drawing, chalk sketch, paint strokes, paint brush, Glow diffused, Blur, Light screen, Watercolor sponge, Film grain, Mosaic bubbles, Glass, Cement, Texturiser, Crisscross Etching, Pastels smooth, Plastic wrap, Cutout, Photocopy, Glow edges. You choose the transparency and smoothness as well. Continue to select each and see the image change on the PowerPoint slide. Once you like it, press OK. *Reflections= You can choose a reflection of the image on the PowerPoint slide. You can determine its transparency, size, and distance. If you like it, press OK. *Glow and Soft edges= You can also choose the glow of the margins. Determine its color, size, and transparency. Soft edges give the size of corners. Choose if you like it. Choose the gradient of line. In weights and Arrows, choose the style, Dashed, Cap type, Join type and weight of line. Adjacent to ‘Corrections’ is ‘Recolor’ options. Click on its arrow options. You can choose color saturation from options, color tones from options, Recolor from drop down options in the form of image recolors. Than there is ‘More colors’ option by which you can customize the color of the image. Adjacent to ‘Recolor’ is ‘Filters’. Next to ‘Filters’ is ‘Remove background’. “Surround the foreground image by using the selection rectangle. Background areas are shaded. Draw (dotted) lines within the areas that you want to include or exclude from the foreground image”. Again, click on the ‘Remove background’ icon to make the changes. From ‘Picture styles’, click on the image options and the image on your slide will change accordingly. Choose the one you like. Further to the right is ‘Border’ option from which you can choose the border color of your image. Below ‘Border’ is ‘Effects’ option and you can choose from shadow, reflection, glow, bevel, 3-D rotation. In each option, a drop down menu of altered picture options will be there and you can check to see the changes in your image. If you like it, press OK. By the above methods, you can almost have the exact image you desire to use in the Collage. Select and insert all images you want to use to make the Collage on the PowerPoint slide. Adjust the borders and size by choosing each image and than dragging the rectangle surrounding it. Drag the whole image to reposition it. In this way, you can easily manipulate all images in the Collage to their desired size, quality and position. Once you are satisfied with the outcome, you can click on ‘File’ and save the Collage in the format of JPEG or PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PDF, and PowerPoint image. The beauty of this is that you can further alter the Collage to your liking by using the above cycle that you used to give quality to individual images. The Collage on PowerPoint and I Photo on Mac Computer is ready. You can directly also use the PowerPoint to make Collage on windows computer as well. Have a nice day! And to top it, it’s free. For each account with a unique E mail id, it offers you one primary blog. Than, you can create several secondary blogs under the primary blog. But, the secondary blogs are not directly connected to your primary blog. Tumblr also offers you to have your own custom domain for your primary blog. Your custom domain, you will have to buy from a domain service provider like Godaddy, Weebly, Yahoo, Wordpress etc. To customize your primary blog, the instructions which are also present on the Tumble helpline are as follows: “Make a configuration change in your custom domain settings, depending on the number of levels in your desired domain. Domain configuration two levels: Point A-record (IP address) to 66.6.44.4 Domain configuration three or more levels: Point C NAME record to domains.tumblr.com Its wise to do both the above steps in all cases.” Post login steps: “Click settings (the gear icon) at he top of your Dashboard. Click the blog you did like to update on the right side of the page. Click the pencil to the right of the username section and enable ‘use a custom domain’. Enter your domain (example tanvir.in in my case). Click ‘Test your domain’. Correct problems if the test finds any and click ‘test your domain’ until the test is successful. Hit ‘save’. “ Though the above instructions are according to the Tumblr helpline but practically you will have to wait 24 to 48 hours before changes are propagated across the Internet and the test is successful. Wait till such time as necessary and than click ‘save’. If you are able to click ‘save’ and it resolves, it means that your Tumblr blog has now your custom domain address. Now, even when someone visits your Tumblr URL, they will be redirected to your custom domain. But, all this hard work of custom domaining your Tumblr URL has more purpose to it. Now your visibility to search engines and searches will increase. But, if you have created secondary blogs under your primary blog and want visitors to access and visit these secondary blogs from your custom domain dashboard, you will have to work a bit harder. There are two effective ways, by which you can make your secondary blogs visible on your primary blog dashboard or your custom domain dashboard, as the case may be. 1st Method: In this method, you create a standard page. You can title it “My Secondary Blogs” or some such name. I have titled my page as “TANVIR BLOGS”. In this method, to create a page like “TANVIR BLOGS”, you go to your primary Tumblr blog. Click on “Customize” which is an eye symbol , below posts. A rotating wheel will appear. On the left appears a series of options, which depend on the Theme you have chosen. But, in most cases there will be on the left, ‘Appearance’ options, ‘Theme’ options and below that is “+Add a page” and last is ‘Advanced options’. Choose and click on “+Add a page” Standard layout / Show a link to this page ∞ www.tanvir.in/url Page Title Page content A screen similar to above will appear. Click on ‘Standard layout’. Give your page a title like I have given it “TANVIR BLOGS”. Next in the page content, type the names of your secondary blogs. Like the names of my secondary blogs are TANVIR NewsAnalysis, TANVIR LifeStyle, TANVIR MedicalCare, TANVIR Sports, TANVIR SpiritualTalk, and TANVIR NatureTalk. You can type the names of your secondary blogs, one under the other. Next, choose each secondary blog title by spreading the cursor over the secondary blog title. Next, click on the link icon above. A table will appear asking you to type the URL of the directed website, in this case your secondary blog URL. You can also choose whether it opens in the same window or new window. Sequentially, choose each secondary blog name, click on the link icon, and type the URL of the chosen secondary blog. Save it. The page will appear on the dashboard of your primary blog or custom domain. Like it appears as “TANVIR BLOGS” on the dashboard of my custom URL http://www.tanvir.in When a visitor, visits http://www.tanvir.in, it will see “TANVIR BLOGS” in the dashboard on the left. If the visitor clicks on “TANVIR BLOGS”, the page will open with names of all my secondary blogs. The visitor can click on the secondary blog name it wants to visit and the link will take it to your secondary blog. But, your secondary blogs are not the only blogs you can include in this way. You might have other blogs on other websites and platforms and may want to attract the attention of visitors to these blogs as well. To include such non-Tumblr blogs, the method remains the same. On the page content portion of the standard page, type sequentially the name of such non-Tumblr blogs. Spread the cursor over each such non-Tumblr blog name, choose it and next click on the link icon. A table will appear where you can type the URL of your non-Tumblr blog. Choose whether it opens in the same window or new window. Click ‘save’. In this way you can present to the visitor, all your secondary Tumblr blogs as well as non-Tumblr blogs on a single page. The disadvantage of this method is that on the dashboard, the name of the page, like “TANVIR BLOGS” is not very prominent and gives very little information as to the contents. The advantage is that it acquires very little space on the dashboard and is easy to make. If you wish to make your secondary blogs look more prominent and show as separate entities on the dashboard, you can go for this second method. 2nd Method: Till you choose “+Add a page”, the steps remain the same as above. A window like below will appear Standard layout / Show a link to this page www.tanvir.in/url Page Title Page Content In the second method, you choose and click on the right side of the window, which shows the text ‘show a link to this page’. Type your page title, which will also appear in the ‘show a link to this page’ window on upper right. The page title can be the name of your secondary Tumblr blog. In the second row, you see your primary blog URL or custom domain URL slash url. In my case since www.tanvir.in is the custom domain, so the second row appears as www.tanvir.in/url. In place of url, type the URL of your secondary blog which should begin with www and http:// is omitted. You can also type the URL of your non-Tumblr blog as well. In the window, in blue above is ‘save’ button option and on right of that is ‘update preview’ button. If your URL and other things are in order, clicking on ‘save’ button, the ‘save’ button will disappear. Also, the page title will appear on the dashboard of your primary blog or custom domain. You can also add a short description of your secondary blog in the ‘page content’ area. Since you cannot leave this area blank, you can retype the full URL of your secondary blog if you do not want to add any description. As you continue to add your secondary Tumblr blogs by this method, they will continue to appear on the dashboard of your primary blog or custom domain in sequence. This way, a visitor to your Tumblr primary blog or custom domain will see the names of your secondary Tumblr blogs and non-Tumblr blogs in the dashboard. But, clicking on the name of your secondary blog is not going to take them to your secondary blog but will open a window with the name of your secondary blog and a link URL below it. Clicking on the link URL will take the visitor to your Tumblr secondary blog or a non-Tumblr blog as the case may be. Instead of the link URL, you can type the name of your blog gain or a little detail about it. In this way, you can have your Tumblr secondary blogs and even non-tumblr blogs appear on the dashboard of your primary blog or your custom domain, http://www.tanvir.in in my case. GOOGLE PAGE ANALYTICS Of the many things that define our lifestyle, technology is one of the premier markers. It has been so since the beginning of human species, led by the Human Mesopotamians for over 40 million years. In recent years, Internet is a technological tool, which has developed rapidly. You can make your presence felt to the people that you never thought possible before the advent of Internet. In this introduction to the world, websites and webpages play a very important role. You can introduce yourself to the world through your website which may include many webpages. Of the many platforms available, Google plus has become a very important tool. It offers Communities, Circles, and from the point of view of this discussion, pages. You can create pages on Google plus which can be viewed by many people. However, you want to know your audience and its tastes in order to make your existing pages more attractive and make better pages in the future. To analyze your Google plus pages, Google offers a very convenient and effective tool to analyze your readers and viewers. It is known as the “Google Developers Console”(GDC). You can create various projects in GDC and analyze your Google+ pages. You can access GDC at console.developers.google.com using your existing Gmail account which you might also have had used to create your Google+ account as well. I am assuming that you already have some Google+ pages to analyze. You can create a Google+ page easily. Click on pages on the left side drop down menu on your Google+ account. Click on create page. Name your page, introduce the page, link a website or websites and than post a short introduction. Than you can post other contents of page in ‘about’. Google+ also offers you to customize the URL. It is generally a number but you can create your own URL. To give you an example. I have pages “Theory of Stability: Origin and Evolution of Life” and “Sexuality: Female Sexbeauty Index”. There are other pages as well but these two will do for the example. I have linked my various websites to these Google+ pages. I wrote a brief introduction to both and than posted more details as post in ‘about’. I have made the post contents public and have also posted it to my circles, extended circles, and my AFMC D2 batch mates group Email. When you open a Google+ page, you will notice a number in the address bar. This is important for Google page analytics. It is the id of the page. Just copy the numeric part of it. Next go to Google Developers Console in a new window at console.developers.google.com. You will have to use your Gmail login. You will notice a blue button on the left upper side, which shows ‘CREATE PROJECT’. Click on it. You will than be required to name the project. Generally, it makes sense to name the project after your page. You can also name your project similarly or as you choose and than click create. This window will have the project id automatically displayed below the ‘to fill project name’ box. Next click on the project from the list of projects you have created. A window will open which will have a list on the left side. Select “API’s & auth”. It will further show options. From it select “Consent Screen”. You will now have to fill the consent form with E mail address (Gmail), product name, homepage URL, product logo, privacy policy URL, terms of service URL. If you are a company offering products, you might have different websites to cater to the above listings. But if you are an individual, you still might have one or more websites. I will advise the readers to fill the above boxes with you website URL. If you have only one website, you can fill it in all 4 boxes. But if like me you have more than one website, you can fill each box with a different website. Like I have filled the boxes with my 4 websites http://www.tanvir.in Thus I utilized all my websites in these boxes. In the last box, you will be required to fill the “Google+ page Id”. Here you paste the number only which you copied from the address bar when you opened your Google+ page. It is a 21-digit number in the address bar. Click save. For example in the address bar of my page “Theory of Stability: Origin and Evolution of Life”, the address bar read as: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/118348719337723833289/dashboard/overview Of this the number, 118348719337723833289, is the Google+ page Id and has to be pasted in the last box. In my page “Sexuality: Female Sexbeauty Index”, the address bar read as: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/106011881615192976045/dashboard/overview Of this again the number, 106011881615192976045, is the Google+ page Id and has to be pasted in the last box. Re click on the plus page management and than click ‘approve’. Now your Google+ page is connected to Google Developers Console. Now you can use the Google developers console to analyze your Google+ page. To view you page analytics, click on the project you choose, on the left side bar, click overview. APIs has BigQuery API, Google Cloud SQL, Google Cloud storage and Google cloud Storage JSON API already ON by default. Below it are Browse APIs, which you can choose to turn ON. Of the browse APIs which you can turn ON, Google cloud DNS API and Google computer engine requires your billing information. Others are free and you can choose to switch them all ON to utilize their services. The list of browse APIs is pretty long and impressive. But a beginner won’t be able to make much of much of it. For a beginner, connecting your Google+ page to Google Developers Console is rewarding enough. It automatically boosts the presence and ranking of your Google+ page as per Google search engine. This also gives an opportunity to list your websites. I will advise the reader to approve of all Browse APIs except the two, which require billing information. Once you page has a base of views, lets say a base of 100 or over views. You can select the project that you have connected to your Google+ page. Click on each API and browse API and you will be presented with a data. You can analyze this data to ascertain your readers and viewers, make, and post changes in your page accordingly.
